Hey! Oh, pegasus wings, but I just got assigned to be a main character in the Glowshine Filly School play about why Glowshine is actually named, um... Glowshine! I like acting, but being a main character isn't really what I do. Lucky for me, I've heard that Dazzler was invited, too, and knowing her... That unicorn is sure going to accept!
There's a ton of extra details in the story, but I have a long-but-interesting (and not 115%-detail-filled) tale on the reason that Glowshine is named... You know what, let's just go on!
I was assigned to play the part of... Let me check my leaf booklet...
The part of Star Shiner! She was a powerful unicorn who created the constellations, like the Winged Dipper. But as time passed, Star Shiner became jealous of her older sisters, Sun Twirl and Moon Dash, who controlled the movement of the moon and the sun.
So once Star Shiner was old enough to make stars fly across the sky, SHOOTING stars, she was planning already. She would rule all of Glowshine, and maybe eventually all of Callista!
When it was the night she had finally decided to imprison her sisters, she snuck up behind them to start sending them to the stars so they couldn't come back.
But once she started murmuring the spell, it backfired and sent a shooting star towards her and her sisters! Star Shiner, being invincible towards projectiles like magical flaming feathers or shooting stars like this one, jumped up to protect her sisters. Sun Twirl and Moon Dash were stunned, and confused, but once the star hit into Star Shiner, the two sisters ran to help her.
Star Shiner was fine, but she had decided that she would now rather rule alongside her older sisters. Why? Two reasons: to avoid clashes like an accidental shooting star (or a random eclipse of the sun, or an unexpectedly bright night), and because Star Shiner had realized that those three unicorns were meant to rule together.
And when the shooting star clamped with the ground and Star Shiner herself, it exploded in a flurry of beautiful, glowing star-sparks. These star-sparks are rare and only found from a shooting star that crashes into two items: one moving, one not.
Those particular star-sparks were hidden into the ground the very next day, by the three princesses themselves, and ever since, Glowshine has sparkled naturally (from those star-sparks) every time a shooting star flies by the town.
Pretty cheesy, but it's really nice! I think I'll accept the invitation to participate in the little fillies' school play... Also, I'm flattered!
